DISCOGRAPHY

We thank Rupert Holmes for the many hours he spent with us compiling this discography. At the moment, we have not even begun to complete a listing of all the songs he sang as various studio recording groups in the early seventies, except for a few chart recordings, although in time we hope to have that up-to-date as well. See also the following major announcement:

We're pleased to announce Universal Music / Hip-O Select's release of the new Five CD Box Set of Rupert's entire recorded work:
Cast of Characters: The Rupert Holmes Songbook
All eight of his albums (many never before released on CD)
and a bonus twenty song CD, including 4 new recordings.

THE "APOCRYPHAL" ALBUMS

After the success of "Escape," several promoters put out a number of albums containing a hodge-podge of Rupert's earliest studio session work from his late teens to very early twenties, "work for hire" jobs that were often songs he didn't write and, in some cases, didn't even sing

RH VOCAL APPEARANCES

Prior to recording under his own name:

The Street People Musicor Included the Billboard Top 40 single "Jennifer Tompkins"
The Cuff Links Second Album Decca Having arranged much of the Cuff Links first album, he replaced vocalist Ron Dante as the "group's" lead voice while continuing to arrange most of the material, primarily written by Paul Vance and Lee Pockriss
Five Savage Men Veejay Film score composed and conducted by Rupert Holmes while in his early twenties but released after the success of his hit singles; features two vocals by RH of his song "There's So Little Time."

Post recording under his own name:

The Christmas Raccoons

Rupert says that here, singing some bouncy songs written by others for an animated Christmas special, he reflexively reverted to his studio group voice a la The Cuff Links.

No Small Affair (MP Soundtrack) Atlantic Film score by Rupert Holmes with title song written and performed by RH. See also 3 bonus cuts on "Widescreen -- The Collector's Edition."
